You will be reading the stories listed below from your Bedford anthologies. The dates listed are the due dates for the stories and notes. For each story you should take notes which include the following:

 

á        Story title and possible meaning

á        Characters – name, description, role

á        Setting – where, when, atmosphere

á        Theme – ideas in story central to theme

á        Style – use of language, imagery, symbolism, narrative pacing

á        Point of View – tense, reliability, focus

á        Design – linear, episodic, use of special form

á        Tone – authorÕs attitude toward subject
